Burmese
The people-first charmer in satin brown

Gentle, sweet-tempered and devoted to people, Burmese will happily settle into any lap that is offered. They are patient and easy-going, which makes them a wonderful choice for families — including homes with young children.

History
Traced to a single cat. In 1930 a small brown female called Wong Mau was brought from Burma to the United States and bred with a Siamese; every modern Burmese descends from that programme.
Personality
Among the most people-focused of all cats. Burmese are talkative, physically affectionate and follow their people from room to room. They stay kittenish for years and generally do badly with long stretches alone.
Did you know?
They are often described as a brick wrapped in silk — a Burmese picked up is startlingly heavier than it looks.
